Where is Volga river

Volga is the longest river of Europe and major river of Russia. The length of river Volga is 3531 k.m. Volga river flows almost entirely in Russia. it is also Europe’s largest river in terms of discharge. Volga river is widely regarded as the national river of Russia. It is also called the Ganga of Russia. Moscow is situated on the bank of river Volga.

Volga river rises in Valdai hill 225 meters above sea level in the Northwest of Moscow in European Russia and joins Caspian sea. Volga is the longest river to flow into a closed basin. Kama and Oka are the tributaries of river Volga.
